Muhammad's Homeland
Muhammad's homeland was in Mecca. He was born around 570 A.D. His father was a merchant. He never knew
his father since he had died before Muhammad was born. Hies mother died when he was only six years old. Muhammad
was then raised by his grandfather. After his grandfather died, Muhammad moved into the hands of his uncle.
Who Was Muhammad?
Muhammad grew up and eventually took care of his uncle's caravan business. He married a wealthy woman named Khadijah.
Muhammad became concerned when he found out that wealthy were ignoring and not helping the poor and homeless.
Muhammad began praying for them in caves. One day, an angel came and spoke to him. The angel told him to
spread the message of Islam. Muhammad started and gave preaches to Arabia. He became very successful and died
in 632 A.D.
What is Islam?
Islam is a religion that has been going on for over 2000 years. It is a religion
practiced by Muslims in Arabia and all over the world. Islamic rules are stated on the Five Pillars of Islam.
The Qur'an is the holy book of Islam.
